Google has taken it one step ahead this time with custom theme. You can add your own background images and make your own custom theme for your inbox.

How to Make Your Own Custom Theme with Background Image:

1. Just log into your Gmail account, and go to Themes Tabs in your Settings.

2. Choose “Create Your Own Theme”, and you’ll see a pop-up like this:

3. You can customize the color scheme and choose your own background image either from Picasa or upload it from your computer.
4. Now Choose the alignment and Tiling (if your image is small, and you want it to repeat across your screen)
Adore the new look and feel of your inbox, and if you do get fed up with your background you always have the possibility of choosing your own background image.
