How To: Download Your Uploaded Videos From Google Video

Option #1 – Use Download Button
In my research it seems about 50% of Google Video users have a “Download” button appearing next to their videos. I am not one of those people – no button shows up on my Google Video page. Click the download button and then after you download the video, it will change to “downloaded” to let you know that you have downloaded that video.
Here’s what the download option looks like:


Option #2 – Modify the URL
If you don’t have the download option listed above, you can modify the URL to get the download option to work. Just hover over the link “Edit Video Info” and copy the CID from the URL into the following link:

• http://www.google.com/video/upload/DownloadVideo?cid=XXXXXXX&hl=en

I guess you could view source on your page, and copy all of the CIDs and then create a nice set of download links for your videos.
Option #3 – Use Youtube-DL
Youtube-DL is a simple Python application that runs on the command line and will allow you to download your videos from GV very easily. Even though the name says YouTube, it will work on GV and other video streaming services. The command to run after you install Youtube-DL is something like:

• python youtube-dl -t google-video-url

You can run this application in Windows, Unix, etc. In Windows you will need to install the Python libraries to make the application executable. This option should only be used by those who understand how Python programming works.
