Ford Raptor

Background

The Raptor is a modified extended cab F-150 truck intended for high speed off road use. Inspired by the prerunners used by high-dollar off road teams, it brings a variety of off road features. Developed by the Special Vehicle Team (SVT) at Ford, the Raptor was used as a test bed for further engineering validation for the new 6.2L V8. The truck itself ran in 2008 Baja 1000 where it finished 3rd in class. With 5300 confirmed orders, first year Raptor sales have exceeded 1999's Lightning production numbers.
[edit] Engine

The Raptor is powered by an updated version of the regular F-150’s 5.4-liter Triton V8 three-valve engine, delivering 320 horsepower and 390 pound-feet of torque. As of Spring 2010, Ford's new 6.2L 2v V8, which delivers 411HP and 434ft-lbs of torque, is an optional powerplant for the Raptor.
[edit] Body, Frame, and Features

From the A-pillar forward, the Raptor has different sheetmetal from other F-150s and is bereft of the blue oval badge in the grille. SVT widened the track by 7 in., and so its 5.5-ft box is unique to the Raptor as well[2]. The Raptor's height is 2 in. over a standard Supercrew. It also features new, internal bypass shocks, designed by Fox Racing. These shocks are allegedly designed for a smooth ride on-road that stiffens up when the driver reaches high speeds off-road, in essence what external bypass shocks do, without the inherint packaging problems.

The Raptor has new leaf springs and shocks, new front upper- and lower-A-arms, and a wider, thicker-walled rear axle. It's the first Ford with hill-descent control and comes with a differential locker that lets the driver keep it locked at high speeds.

Towing capacity is reported to be up to 6000 lb with a 1000-lb payload. Interior changes include high-bolster seats, a special steering wheel, and redesigned center console. Ford originally promised a "value price" and a multiyear run--final pricing came in at $42,000.00 for 2010.

Ford F150 Wallpapers Gallery

The F-Series is a series of full-size pickup trucks from Ford Motor Company sold for over six decades. The most popular variant of the F-Series is the F-150. It was the best-selling vehicle in the United States for 24 years and has been the best-selling truck for 34 years, though this does not include combined sales of GM pickup trucks. Analysts estimate that the F-Series alone makes up half of the Ford Motor Company's profits in recent years[citation needed]. In the tenth generation of the F-series, the F-250HD and F-350 which were changed to diesel fuel changed body style in 1998 and joined the Super Duty series.

Ford Bronco Picture

The Ford Bronco is a sport utility vehicle that was produced from 1966 through 1996, with five distinct generations. Broncos can be divided into two categories: early Broncos (1966–1977) and full-size Broncos (1978–1996).

The Bronco was introduced in 1966 as a competitor to the small four-wheel-drive compact SUVs such as the Jeep CJ-5 and International Harvester Scout, and built on its own platform.[1] A major redesign in 1978 moved the Bronco to a larger size, and it was built using a shortened Ford F-Series truck chassis to compete with the similarly adapted Chevrolet K5 Blazer.

The full-size Broncos and the successor Expedition were produced at Ford's Michigan Truck Plant in Wayne, Michigan.

The Bronco permanently entered popular culture on June 17, 1994, as a white 1993 model owned and driven by Al Cowlings with O. J. Simpson, who was wanted for the murders of his ex-wife and her friend, attempted to elude the Los Angeles Police Department in a low-speed chase.[2] With an estimated television audience of 95 million, the event was described "as the most famous ride on American shores since Paul Revere's".

Ford Gt mastang car

The Ford GT is a mid-engine two-seater supercar. Ford Motor Company produced the Ford GT for the 2005 to 2006 model years. The designers drew inspiration from Ford's classic GT40 race cars of the 1960s, and the new Ford GT is sometimes mistaken for its 1960s counterpart.
