Hi everyone,
I am trying to reschedule my H1B appointment as my contact in mumbai failed to deliver the DS-156 and DS-157 to the consulate in time (5 business days prior). However, I can't book a new one till the old one is cancelled and the system won't let me cancel 5 business days or less before the current appointment. Does anyone know what to do? It must have happened to someone before? I really need to get back to the US in 10 days.

It happened to my parents. They did not know that they had to drop the packet 5 days before the schedule date. While reading on the website, I found out that they need to drop the packet 5 days before. They then dropped the packet at the embassy 3 days before appointment day. On the appointment day, the visa officer rejected the application after asking one question "why you want to go to the USA?". The reason was a standard line -- not enough evidence that you will come back.
I am not sure about the reason of rejection but I think it has to do with not dropping the packet on time.

You will be transfered to level 2. The officer at level 2 has access to check the name status.

Unfortunately NO. you cannot declare anything while leaving India.
Not correct. You can declare your stuff , including Jewellery, right after immigration check at customs counter when leaving India. I did it once for my laptop long back.
Also, carry your Indian receipts.

Don't worry too much..worst case is to re-file ead & ap w/ newer fees.
He'll eventually get GC & will be driving a Lexas in Dallus, Texus ;).

Use FOIA form to get a copy of your I-140 approval notice. It is a slow process. Can take upto a year to get the document.

What does being a member mean?
does it mean that you are their employee? Which you cannot be .. since you are on h1 and they haven't filed one for you.
Are you a shareholder? If yes .. on a h1 you have the right to be a shareholder in any company .. (eg .. if you own Oracle stock .. you are a share holder there.)

I don�t know about the port of entry, but for EAD and AP they might insist. You must have read my earlier post. In my case they had enough evidence to verify that I had a 485 application pending, but they still chose to send it back. I guess it also depends on the knowledge of the person handling your case. The only way to find out for sure is to apply and see if they send it back. Are you the primary applicant in your case or is it your husband? My lawyer said they did not get the 485 notice for 1 year now, but I know for sure that he has it.

He has also asked me apply for the renewal of AP & EAD, he has asked me attach the biometric notice instead of I485 notice and my husbands I485 notice.
Can anyone who has traveled on AP without a I485 notice share their experience. Any suggestions are welcome...

i lostmy legal in 2002 (b2). during 2003 i won gc lottery . we did al paper work till last step.my lawyer toll me dont go couse deportation. In 2005 my employer apply gc for me (em3) In April 2006 I-140 aproved.now we waiting for priority date..
My question to you .. my lottery case priority date can be use for my eb3 case?

via regular mail. There is no tracking available. If it is lost, it is lost. That is what I hate about both the EAD and AP process.:mad:
In my experience, the AP has been received anywhere from 4 days to 7 days after "the document has been mailed" notice.

I am scheduling an Infopass appointment at my local USCIS office in the hope of getting an interim EAD. It has been more than 90 days since they received my application.

My I-485 Receipt Notice does not have any PD on it either.
ALl I-485, repeat ALL do not have PD date on it. Only the I-140 approval notices have a date filled in.

Urgent advise is required.
My PERM was approved in April-07 and now I have just filed the concurrent 140/485. Now the company is transferring me to a new location (State) early next month with a possible change in the salary than what�s mentioned on my PERM. Can anyone please advise if there will be some impact on my 140/485 applications if:
a) I moved to a different state and, (My work location on PERM is California)
b) If I will be getting less salary than what�s mentioned on my PERM

Yes, My checks got cashed as well. We had filed on July 18th to NSC. Now I need one help. I have moved to Chicago area freom Michigan. We had filed from Michigan. So to change address to get FP notice in Chicago area what all I need to do? I had no Alien number on my I140. Please advice. I am looking at LIN number on the back of the checks. But for my wife she has different LIN number on three checks for I-765, I-485 & FP. Which one will be valid. Can I get any handle from these numbers to make a call to USCIS and request them to change my address online? What is the number for USCIS to call?
